New Old Stock Vintage Shoes

This is a very hard post for me to write.  I debated on whether I should write it so soon.  But, I decided that the right thing to do was to not keep this to myself, even if I would rather not have to fight for this wonderful find.  If  you are like me, you've been searching for the perfect vintage shoe, even if it is reproduction. Most of us do not have a size five foot. If we did, finding vintage shoes would not be such a problem. I have struggled with this for over a decade. This is especially difficult since I am into the 50s. There are more options (though still not that many) for those into earlier decades than there is for my favorite decade.

Every so often, I'd do a search for vintage reproduction shoes, but come up empty. After much disappointment, I even started looking for custom shoes, but still couldn't find what I wanted. Then one day I stumbled across A Vintage Sole. They have a large stock of shoes dating from the 1930s to the 1970s. They have various sizes, and best of all they are all brand new!

It took me a few days to decide which pair of shoes I wanted to order first. I settled on the Speedwell. The customer service was fantastic. After I ordered them, I checked the tracking number every day, anxiously checking how far they had traveled in the prior 24 hours. After a couple days trouble with Fed Ex, they finally arrived. I immediately fell in love with them.

I have never owned a brand new pair of vintage shoes. To me, they fit unlike modern shoes. The soles are a bit stiffer, but the toe box is roomier than modern shoes. I stood and walked in them all day without the always present toe rubbing I get in my other shoes. The ones I chose have a lower heel, which probably helped my feet from not hurting, but I believe that most of this is due to the quality of vintage shoes.

Nothing puts together an outfit like the right shoe!

And... yes, in case you haven't notice, I have new hair.
